FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

After you book a session, I send paperwork to be completed and ask for any recent bloodwork. The initial consultation can take 90-120 minutes as we go through your health and personal history from your birth story to the present day, spending time on events that may have contributed to the reason for the consultation. I take your vital signs (pulse, heart rate, blood pressure), palpate your belly, look at your tongue and feel your pulse (this is all possible virtually, as well). I answer any Ayurvedic questions you may have. You go home with a few tips and I put together a protocol within 7 days that includes lifestyle, herbal, and diet recommendations for 4 weeks. We meet weekly that first month to ensure your questions are being answered and that you are feeling supported in the changes. Once you have established a routine, we will move to biweekly or monthly sessions in which I will do your assessment and adjust your protocol as needed. For optimum shifts, I suggest that we work together for 6 months and then we can check in every 3-6 months, especially in the fall and spring.

Like all things in that postpartum period, this can vary as I will work with both mama and babe, but typically the flow we aim for is:
I set up the massage table and give mama a 75 minute abyangha and any other additional treatments as scheduled weekly
If possible, I ask mama and babe to rest while I prepare a bath, tea and a snack
After the herbal bath, I wrap mama’s belly
While mama is resting, I will help around the house with light housekeeping (cleaning, dishes, laundry) and watching your child(ren) and do anything else to make life easier such as shopping or picking up baby items
I lead yoga nidra or pranayama if time allows

For Ayurvedic consultations, I request full payment when booking a session. Life happens and if you need to reschedule, I request a minimum of 2 working days (M-F) notice and ask that the session be rescheduled within 2 weeks. Appointments cancelled within that window or no shows will not be rescheduled. Thank you for your attention to this policy.
For Ayurvedic bodywork scheduling, I often need to prepare several days in advance and request a minimum of 3 working days (M-F) notice and ask that the session be rescheduled within 2 weeks. Appointments cancelled within that window or no shows will not be rescheduled. Thank you for your attention to this policy.
For Ayurdoula clients, I schedule 1-2 clients at most per month, therefore I request 20% down payment to hold my calendar and 30% down payment 4 weeks before delivery, when I start procuring supplies.

Before we meet, you will complete the intake and consent form here, which should take about 20 minutes. Once you are complete, please save as a pdf and save for yourself and send to me. I know it sounds long but part of working with me will be getting to know yourself better and it all starts here :)
